(Migrated) Logging #zato channel in IRC

(This message has been automatically imported from the retired mailing list)

Hi all!

Sometimes on #zato IRC channel appears interesting iformation. But if you
are not connected to it at the moment - it doesn’t stores anywhere.

I suggest to set up logging bot for #zato room. It can help to google cases
which appears on IRC. Any additional peace of documentation is very useful.

For example, https://botbot.me/ is free and convenient. But it need channel
op to fill a form

I would prefer if it were not logged. I really appreciate the current
relaxed atmosphere, though obviously within reason and in accordance
with the project’s code of conduct …

… and at times matters outside of one’s professional sphere of
interests get discussed - I’d rather if it were not logged anywhere.

About 75% of Zato-related talks are really trivial, like someone
forgetting to install Redis at all, symlinking /opt to a partition with
0.1 GB of disk space or yes/no questions confirming that Zato supports
such and such connection types.

If anything needs more time, users are asked to refer to the mailing
list or GitHub, exactly so nothing of value is lost.

Thanks for your understanding.

By the way - just for the benefit of other readers - the channel’s web
address is:

By the way, Val, if you need additional documentation - please suggest
what is needed. You just need to speak up and propose that such and such
content be added.

thanks a lot,
